The series was inspired by my play, The American Soldier, which touches on many aspects of war but primarily explores the sacrifices and challenges our veterans and their families face as they return home from combat. Landing Home is cast with more than 17 veterans both in the crew and the cast, and even among the civilian participants, many had veterans in their families.
